Explore creative flower photography in the Conservatories, where the emphasis is on the color blue, one of nature’s most eye-catching hues for flowers. This workshop offers a combination of classroom instruction and shooting sessions with the instructor. Close-up techniques, light management, and visual design for impact with emphasis on the Artistic, Bold/Blue, and Colorful (ABC’s) images of flowers will be discussed.

Longwood Gardens – Night Photo Op: Main Fountain Garden

6:30 PM – 11:00 PM

Spend an evening photographing and learning alongside four different photography instructors, as you capture the beauty and enjoy the evening serenity of Longwood. A short introduction in the Visitor Center Auditorium will start things off. Then everyone will head to one of four different locations, in and around the Main Fountain Garden. You will have the opportunity to hone a different photographic skill at each location under the guidance of our talented photography instructors.

Longwood Gardens – Photographing Fall Colors Inside and Out

Focus your camera on autumn colors that abound inside and out at Longwood. With emphasis on our spectacular chrysanthemum display and the fall garden landscape, we’ll divide the class into two unique shooting sessions. Composition, lighting and background control will be explored. Formal critique of participant’s images and the introduction of image-enhancement techniques complete the workshop.
